Day 1: Agadir → Tata

Pick up from your hotel or riad in Agadir to begin your desert adventure. Travel through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, stopping to admire spectacular landscapes and small Berber villages. Visit Oum el-Alek to discover fascinating prehistoric rock carvings that reveal Morocco’s ancient past. Continue to the oasis of Akka with its palm groves and ksour (fortified villages).

Lunch in a local village and continue to Tata, a quiet village surrounded by mountains and known for its red adobe architecture. Arrival, dinner, and lodging. Overnight in Tata.

Day 2: Tata → Foum Zguid → Erg Chegaga Desert

After breakfast, continue south through arid landscapes and desert plateaus until you reach Foum Zguid, the last town before the Sahara. Lunch and start of the exciting 4×4 route across the dry Iriqui Lake, a remote area where the horizon seems endless.

Arrival at Erg Chegaga, one of the most spectacular and least visited dune fields in Morocco. Switch to camels for a peaceful ride through the dunes and watch the unforgettable sunset.

At the camp, welcome with mint tea. Traditional dinner by the campfire, Berber drum music, and a magical night under a starry sky. Night in a nomad tent in Erg Chegaga.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga → M’hamid → Tamegroute → Draa Valley → Ouarzazate

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, departure for M’hamid, known as the gateway to the Sahara.

Continue on to Tamegroute to visit the Koranic library with its ancient manuscripts and the green pottery workshops that are characteristic of the area.
