Embark on a 3-day journey from Fez to Marrakech and discover two of Morocco’s most iconic imperial cities. This adventure combines the contrasting landscapes of the Middle Atlas, the vast Sahara Desert, and the High Atlas, offering unique cultural experiences and breathtaking scenery.
Along the way, you will visit Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco” for its Alpine-style architecture and immaculate streets. Explore the cedar forests, home to Barbary macaques, before arriving at the golden dunes of Merzouga. Here, a camel ride will take you into the heart of the desert, where you will spend the night in a traditional camp under the stars, enjoying local hospitality, music, and the magic of the Saharan sky.
The route continues through Erfoud, famous for its fossils, and Tinghir, with its palm groves and spectacular Todra Gorges. You will spend the night in the stunning Dades Valley, surrounded by unique rock formations and traditional Berber villages. On the last day, you will travel through Ouarzazate, visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, and cross the winding Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas before arriving in Marrakech.

Day 1: Fez – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Begin your adventure in Fez and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine atmosphere and for being one of the cleanest cities in Morocco. Continue to the cedar forests, where you can observe Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Then, pass through Midelt, famous for its apples and cool climate, where you will enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, continue through the picturesque Ziz Valley, surrounded by palm groves and breathtaking gorges. In the evening, you will arrive at the golden dunes of Merzouga, where camels will take you to your desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner, local music, and a night under the Sahara sky.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir – Boumalne Dades
Wake up early to watch the sunrise in the Sahara before returning by camel to meet your driver. Visit Erfoud, world-famous for its fossils and marble crafts. Continue to Tinghir, a picturesque village surrounded by palm groves and the High Atlas Mountains, and explore the impressive Todra Gorges.
Later, drive to Boumalne Dades, a region of spectacular valleys and unique rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay in Boumalne Dades, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, travel through the aromatic Valley of Roses, passing through charming Berber villages. Visit Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” famous for its film studios and historic kasbahs. Explore the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site and a prime example of southern Moroccan earthen architecture.
